Villa, Hassan

Two floors, one family, and a long list of things that had to be made rather than bought. The house needed a prayer room that felt like a proper room, storage that disappeared into the walls, and a staircase that did not eat the ground floor.

Timber does most of the work here — framed, slatted and carved depending on where it lands. It gives the two floors a common thread without repeating the same detail twice.
