This residence brings together contemporary interiors and a distinctly Indian sensibility, creating a home that feels refined, warm and deeply personal. The design is composed around a palette of soft neutrals, warm timber, muted green and earthy terracotta, with traditional craft and decorative elements introduced through carefully considered details.
The bedrooms are designed as individual expressions of the home’s overall character. Bespoke wardrobes become significant design features, combining timber frames, fluted and woven textures, patterned panels and integrated storage. One bedroom takes a softer, more romantic direction with a curved upholstered headboard and botanical wall treatment, while another pairs warm wood with terracotta tones and geometric detailing for a richer, more grounded character.
A recurring feature across the home is the use of custom-designed cabinetry as architecture. Wardrobes, display units and storage walls are treated as integral elements of each room rather than simply functional additions. Decorative panels, framed artwork and curated niches add visual depth while maintaining a sense of order.
The kitchen introduces a stronger material contrast through muted green cabinetry, dark stone surfaces and warm wooden elements. The palette gives the space a contemporary identity while retaining the warmth that runs throughout the residence. The adjoining dining area continues this material language, with timber panelling, crafted furniture and a statement display cabinet creating a more layered and intimate setting.
The living room is intentionally restrained, allowing texture and proportion to take centre stage. A large, softly textured feature wall forms a calm backdrop to the seating area, while carefully placed artwork and furniture add warmth without visual clutter. The result is a space designed equally for everyday living and entertaining.
Traditional influences are most evident in the bespoke decorative elements, particularly the handcrafted-inspired wardrobe and storage panels featuring Indian motifs and ornamental artwork. These details are integrated within contemporary forms, allowing heritage references to feel natural rather than overtly decorative.
Across the residence, curves, timber detailing, textured surfaces and handcrafted references create a consistent design vocabulary. The interiors balance the clean lines of contemporary design with the warmth of traditional materials and craft, resulting in a home that is sophisticated without feeling formal, and contemporary without losing its sense of identity.
The project is ultimately an exploration of modern Indian living—where functionality, craftsmanship and personal expression come together to create spaces that are both timeless and distinctly rooted in their context.
