Preschools have a hard job: they must read as exciting to a four-year-old and as safe and organised to the parent standing at the door. Those two audiences want different things from the same room.

We anchored each space with one strong idea — a tree column in the main classroom, a corridor that runs colour along its full length, an outdoor play frame that doubles as the building's signature from the road — and kept everything else calm, washable, and at the right height for someone very small.
